What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Lake Naomi Club?
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Lifeguard is the safety of all Club Members and Guests while utilizing aquatic facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Come to work in proper uniform, groomed and ready to perform by assigned start time.
- Properly clock in and manage any timecard issues through Paycom’s employee self-service portal
- Be helpful, friendly and cheerful to all Members, Guests and fellow staff in the performance of his or her duties outlined in the current Aquatics Manual.
- Follow the Code of Conduct at all times and positively represent the Club.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of assigned pool or beach.
- Enforce all established rules and guidelines of the Leisure Service Guide and current year Aquatics Manual.
- Call the Aquatics SV on duty for assistance with disciplinary problems or Member issues.
- Execute the proper assists and "rescue ready" guarding techniques and scanning procedures.
- Safeguard Members and Guests both in and out of the water and execute the proper rescues whenever necessary.
- If necessary, administer proper first aid and carry out the Emergency Action Plan set forth by the Lake Naomi Club.
- Constantly check for safety and survey all areas for potential risks including in the pool, on deck, at the beach and in all surrounding areas.
- Keep all water areas and their immediate surroundings clean and assist with maintenance of these areas as needed.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor on Duty.
- Attend seasonal Aquatics Orientation and weekly seasonal staff training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a friendly attitude, good health, maturity, a sense of understanding of the seriousness and responsibility of the position and be able to work as a team player with his or her peers.
- Candidates must possess a valid and current Lifeguarding Certification, First Aid Certification, CPR and AED Certification. Previous work experience in an aquatic environment and Lifeguarding experience preferred.
