What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Cook position at Lake Lawn Resort?
To Prepare menu items for banquet functions and main kitchen food production.
The position is indoors and outdoors; and is exposed to hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time on their feet.
- Prepares hot items for banquets according to function sheets.
- Prepares items to be used by cutting, slicing, shredding, or peeling.
- Reads banquet functions as posted on banquet sheets.
- Rechecks banquet sheets every day with Chef on duty.
- Organizes banquet food production in accordance with BEO/party specifications and counts.
- Maintains food properly to avoid waste and to keep costs down.
- Marks, labels and dates all food production.
- Cleans up work area, tables, shelves, and refrigerators
- Follows general procedures listed in Chef’s office.
- Checks with supervisor regarding condition of station at the end of the shift.
- Assists in general department as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year cooking experience required
- Ability to perform proper knife skills
- Must be at least 18 years or older
