Food & Beverage Manager
Position Summary
Lake Forest Golf Club is seeking an experienced, energetic, and service-oriented Food & Beverage Manager to oversee evening restaurant operations. This leadership role is responsible for creating exceptional guest experience while supporting daily operations, staff development, scheduling, inventory oversight, and operational consistency across the property.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, has a strong bartending background and communicates effectively with both guests and staff, and enjoys leading a team in a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Guest Experience
- Lead operations for the restaurant, patio/deck, banquets and special events
- Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service at all times
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain a visible floor presence and support staff during busy service periods
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture consistent with Lake Forest’s hospitality values
Staff Scheduling & Team Management
- Prepare and manage weekly staff schedules for front-of-house restaurant
- Monitor staffing levels based on reservations, events, weather, and golf activity
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
- Coach staff on service standards, communication, professionalism, and operational procedures
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities and event details
Inventory & Operational Oversight
- Monitor inventory levels for beverages, supplies, paper products, and operational needs
- Assist with ordering and inventory controls to minimize waste and shortages
- Ensure proper cash handling and end-of-day closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the facility
- Coordinate with kitchen, golf, and event staff to ensure smooth operations
Event & Golf Operations Support
- Support execution of golf outings, banquets, live music nights, trivia events, and private functions
- Assist with coordination between restaurant and golf operations during busy evenings and special events
- Help ensure banquet and patio setups are completed accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, golf course, or event management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Strong bar tending skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Experience creating staff schedules and supervising teams
- Inventory management experience preferred
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Strong customer service mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to stand and move throughout the property for extended periods
Compensation & Schedule
- Competitive hourly wage
- Available to work 30–40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
