Job Title: Guest Services - Starter / Ranger

Location: Lake Forest Golf Club – Ann Arbor, MI

Position Type: Part-Time (Minimum 20 hours per week)

Position Overview

Lake Forest Golf Club is a dynamic public golf facility comprised of an 18 Hole Championship course, five acre practice facility, and restaurant, Ellsworth Food & Spirits. We are seeking several friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Starter/Rangersto join our team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, organized, and enjoyable experience for all golfers. The ideal candidate loves the game of golf, enjoys engaging with people, and thrives in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the first tee and ensure groups start on time and in proper order
• Maintain pace of play throughout the golf course in a professional and positive manner
• Communicate clearly with golfers regarding course policies, expectations, and daily conditions
• Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
• Assist with coordinating tee times and managing daily play flow
• Address and resolve on-course issues with professionalism and good judgment
• Assist outdoor service staff as needed, including moving carts, fueling, picking the range, and general support to any member of the Lake Forest team.
• Act as an ambassador of Lake Forest Golf Club’s culture: “Where friends gather,” delivering an unforgettable customer experience

Qualifications

• Strong golf background required (multiple years of playing experience preferred)
• Previous experience in sales, hospitality, or customer service is highly desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment
• Comfortable making decisions and interacting with a wide variety of personalities
• Must enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Positive, outgoing, and team-oriented attitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Ability to navigate the golf course efficiently throughout a shift

Schedule

• Minimum 20 hours per week
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
