Job Description
The Assistant Manager oversees the operation of the Home Health Care Division to ensure all functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while maintaining working relationships with all employees, clients and management. This is a hands-on position that requires the Assistant Manager to complete tasks throughout the team. The position requires knowledge of home health practices, procedures and standards in accordance with state and federal regulations, agency standards and policies and procedures.
This is a working-manager position that requires the position to learn all duties of the division.
Essential Functions
Management
• Supervises and coordinate with the Home Health Care team to ensure all client schedules are covered with trained personnel.
• Manage the Home Health Care team to ensure adequate attendance, performance, documentation and customer service. Address performance per company guidelines.
• Recruit and train new employees to grow division.
Customer Service
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service to clients, employees and team members.
• Coordinate with the client, employee and management regarding the level of service necessary for the client.
• Ensure all clients and employees are provided adequate services.
• Assist evenings and weekends with phone calls and service as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
• Document all communication with clients, employees and management appropriately.
• Make APS reports as required.
• Additional tasks as required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages team members in the division and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the personnel within the division.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours or work and days are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Travel
Travel may be required local counties (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Bay City) in which we do business mostly during the business day, although some overnight may be expected.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Required Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading/managing a team preferred.
• Two to four years in a similar role with administrative experience preferred.
• High level of computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Products.
• Highly developed communication skills, written, listening and speaking.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of home health practices, procedures and standards in accordance with state and federal regulations is preferred.
