Pay Stipend: $45 per hour

 

Staff Schedule: 7:15-3:30 Student Schedule 7:45-3:00

 

 

Description Primary Purpose:

Serve as instructional leader for the summer school program. Interview and hire all summer school staff including teachers. Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance. Direct and manage all programs and campus activities and supervise operations and personnel at campus level.

 

Education/Certification:

  • In District Only - Must be a current Manor ISD employee to be eligible to apply
  • Master’s degree in educational administration; 
  • Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate; 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to coordinate campus functions
  • Ability to manage budget and personnel
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Ability to evaluate instructional program
  • Ability to evaluate teaching effectiveness
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience as a classroom teacher
  • One to three years of experience in instructional leadership roles
  • Principal/AP experience required

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with sending campuses to ensure criteria is applied to all eligible students. Create and disseminate the summer school registration process and communicate directly with parents, teachers, and campus administrators to ensure forms are received back and that students are enrolled in programming.
  • Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions for improvement, as well as for recognition of success.
  • Ensure fidelity of use and implementation of summer school curriculum and resources.
  • Interview, select, and orient new staff. Approve all personnel assigned to campus.
  • Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public.
  • Approve all time sheets, leave, and substitute requests.
  • Ensure summer school teacher to student ratios are maintained throughout summer programming.
  • Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop campus budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control and accurately report fiscal information.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
  • Manage use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.
  • Inventory supplies and resources and ensure delivery of district summer school resources and curriculum to district warehouse.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all staffing for summer school positions, including teachers and support personnel, is completed by May 20, 2026
  • Identify and schedule students needing to attend summer program 
  • Lead both Summer School Programs
  • Develop master schedule for summer school
  • Supervise student discipline
  • Supervise summer school teachers and staff
  • Maintain accurate attendance and credit records to certify grades at the end of summer school
  • Provide professional development and training for summer school staff
  • Coordinate with transportation and food services
