Summary:
The school-based Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic injury evaluation and treatment services to student-athletes. This role focuses on injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care while collaborating closely with school administrators, coaches, physicians, and parents to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes.
Schedule: M-F; after-school practice and game coverage
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide on-site athletic training services during practices, competitions, and school-sponsored athletic events
Prevent, recognize, evaluate, manage, and rehabilitate athletic injuries and illnesses
Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including conditioning, flexibility, and strengthening protocols
Administer first aid and emergency care, including concussion management and return-to-play protocols
Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and treatment documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
Communicate effectively with coaches, school nurses, administrators, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers regarding student-athlete health status
Coordinate referrals to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed
Oversee and maintain athletic training facilities, equipment, and supplies
Educate student-athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, hydration, and overall wellness
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification
State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer
