ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:


The Reporting Specialist creates, maintains, and analyzes institutional data, producing reports for compliance, decision-making, and enrollment management. They work closely with departments across the College to translate complex information system data (e.g., Jenzabar, Salesforce) into dashboards, assist with state/federal reporting, troubleshoot reporting errors and ensure data integrity. 


This position is visible to the College community at all levels and interacts with all constituent groups of the College.


The Reporting Specialist reports to the Compliance Officer at Lackawanna College.


This is an onsite position at our Scranton campus. 






ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Data Reporting and Analysis. Create, run and maintain regularly scheduled and ad-hoc reports regarding enrollment, student retention and other demographics.

  • Compliance Reporting.  Prepare and submit accurate enrollment, financial aid, and other institutional data to state/federal agencies, resolving error reports, working with individual departments when appropriate.

  • Data Visualization.


    • Develop, maintain and update dashboards and data visualization tools for stakeholders (e.g. Board of Trustees, Cabinet, Department Managers, etc.).

    • Develop and maintain a dashboard of Strategic Indicators and other institutional reports necessary for institutional assessment.


  • Data Quality Assurance. Investigate data anomalies, monitor database processes, and maintain data dictionaries.

  • Data Privacy & Security. Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards, helping the university adhere to internal governance policies and external regulations.

  • Make recommendations regarding data integrity, compliance with governmental/industry reporting and process improvement.

  • Participate in the institution’s Data Governance structure as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • EDUCATION:



    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.






    EXPERIENCE:



    • 1-3 years of data management, institutional research or analytical reporting experience preferred; prior college employment desirable.
