How It Works
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Popeyes menu items following standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, and grills safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and food prep areas.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation practices at all times.
- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients by rotating and restocking supplies.
- Prepare breading and seasoning mixtures for chicken and other items.
- Assist with inventory tracking and food storage organization.
- Work collaboratively with team members to fulfill customer orders quickly and accurately.
- Help train new team members on kitchen procedures when needed.
- Minimize food waste through proper portioning and product handling.
- Communicate any equipment issues or safety concerns to management.
- Demonstrate reliability by maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
- Support the team as needed in other areas of the restaurant.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, talk, listen, and use hands for handling kitchen equipment and food items.
- Frequently required to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and lift.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to safely handle raw poultry products.
- Must maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced kitchen environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable using kitchen equipment and handling hot items.
- Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire).
- ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire).
- Previous experience in a quickservice or fastcasual restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of pointofsale systems and cash handling procedures.
- Experience with inventory management and control.
