Responsibilities
- Establish and manage enterprise data architecture principles, frameworks, and standards across ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption.
- Collaborate with business and IT to turn strategic data initiatives into actionable architecture roadmaps.
- Spearhead solution architecture reviews for all major data projects to align with enterprise strategy, security policies, scalability, and compliance.
- Champion metadata-driven, cloud-native, and automation-first architectural patterns.
- Design data solutions across the full lifecycle—source ingestion, data lake medallion architecture (Raw/Refined/Curated), data warehouse models (Redshift), and downstream consumption (Tableau, APIs, external systems).
- Design logical and physical data models that support both analytical and operational workloads while maintaining performance and flexibility.
- Define integration and orchestration patterns using IDMC, AWS native services, and CI/CD pipelines for data movement and transformation.
- Work closely with DataOps, Governance, and Quality teams to implement observability, lineage, and testing within all solutions.
- Design for data resiliency, scalability, and cost efficiency to make sure architectures are production-ready and supportable.
- Administer data governance and architecture standards.
- Work closely with Data Governance and Quality teams to create and monitor architectural KPIs (data reuse, lineage completeness, quality scores).
- Serve as an active participant in Gate reviews and Architecture Review Boards, making sure design artifacts meet readiness criteria.
- Work hand in hand with Business Intelligence and analytics teams to make sure data models are thoroughly documented, performant, and trusted.
- Offer architectural guidance and mentoring to engineering teams during project delivery, balancing long-term design integrity with near-term delivery needs.
- Act as a key liaison between Data Services, Enterprise Architecture, and Application Development teams to facilitate cohesive integration across the ecosystem.
- Work closely with project managers and product owners to strike a balance between design excellence with delivery velocity.
- Analyze emerging technologies and architectural trends and assess applicability to the ecosystem.
- Oversee proofs of concept to evaluate new architectural approaches or tools.
- Serve as an advocate for the modernization of legacy ETL and reporting processes into reusable, automated, and governed data pipelines.
- 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or solution architecture roles.
- 3-5 years designing enterprise-scale cloud data solutions (AWS preferred).
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and delivery layers.
- Proven experience supporting business transformation initiatives or modernization programs.
- Experience in regulated industries preferred.
- Proven success working within cross-functional data teams (engineering, governance, BI, operations).
- Excellent understanding of Informatica IDMC (Data Integration, Quality, Catalog, Governance) and its role in an enterprise data ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of modern data and integration technologies (e.g., IDMC, Kafka, API Gateway, REST/GraphQL, microservices, event-driven architecture).
- In depth expertise in data architecture and design, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
- Advanced skills with AWS data services: Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch, and related components.
