As a member within the supply chain organization, the Category Lead collaborates cross-functionally with stakeholders in Operations, Quality, Finance, and R&D to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational excellence.
About The Role
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive category sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Drive supplier selection and qualification processes through RFI/RFQ activities, ensuring alignment with technical, quality, and commercial requirements.
- Lead contract negotiations and establish OEM Supply Agreements and/or Distribution Agreements with suppliers.
- Manage and execute supply chain initiatives focused on cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee vendor lifecycle management, including onboarding, performance evaluation, and exit strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies and supply continuity.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal demand to identify strategic sourcing opportunities.
- Serve as strategic advisor to senior leadership on category performance, risks, and opportunities
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation within the supply base and internal processes.
- Mentor and influence cross-functional teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Partner closely with these teams to ensure the seamless execution of sourcing strategies and maintain supply continuity.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in category management
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in data analysis tools
- Understanding of medical devices and industry regulations
- Willingness to flex work hours as necessary to engage with global teams and supply partners.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solutions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement analytics tools, SAP preferred.
