Mobile Phlebotomist (Independent Contractor)
Assisted Living Facilities & Home Draws – Maryland: Severna Park, Annapolis, Glen Burnie, Bowie, Mayo
Phlebotomists play a critical role in our laboratory operations. You are the face of our company in the field—your professionalism, bedside manner, and technical accuracy directly impact patient experience and specimen integrity.
We are an established independent reference laboratory seeking experienced mobile phlebotomists to perform blood draws in assisted living facilities and patient homes. This is an independent contractor opportunity for individuals who are reliable, skilled, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection in assisted living facilities and private homes
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen integrity
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and patient care
- Coordinate daily routes and communicate effectively with the lab team
Minimum Qualifications
- Formal phlebotomy training (state or national certification preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of current, continuous phlebotomy experience
- Demonstrated success with geriatric patients and difficult draws (“hard sticks”)
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel locally
- Ability to work early morning hours (5:00–8:00 AM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with interest in helping grow the business
Work Environment
- Independent reference laboratory based in Tampa, FL
- Majority of draws performed in assisted living facilities during early mornings
- Additional daytime house calls for home health patients
- Local travel required using your own vehicle
Compensation
- Paid per draw/house call
- Independent contractor (1099) position
