Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional assisted living support for residents in a residential care environment. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medication accurately according to prescribed schedules and document all medication interactions
- Support residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Engage residents in social activities, encourage participation, and promote mental well-being through companionship and conversation
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes with a focus on senior or long-term care
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care best practices
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly desirable
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for community outings or appointments if needed
- Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with residents, families, and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and manual handling safely throughout shifts
