Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
In this role, you will:
- Accurately accession patient specimens into the laboratory information system
- Provide support for pathologists, histology technicians, and gross technicians in the dermatology pathology lab
- Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on instruments and stain lines
- Correlate H&E and IHC slides for scanning and distribution
- Embed processed tissue specimens in paraffin blocks
- Prepare chemical and biological waste for removal
- File, retrieve and scan pathology materials for send out studies and specialized testing
- Answer phones and serve as a resource for clients and patients
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
All you need is:
- High School Diploma, minimum
- One year of laboratory training or experience is preferred, or qualified to receive on the job training
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
Bonus points if you’ve got:
- 2 years of laboratory training or experience in a high volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience
