Quality Inspector - Cable Assemblies

Job Summary

This is a hands-on, bench-level Quality Inspector role — not a paperwork-only QA job. You’ll be inspecting cable assemblies, connectors, and over-molded products using IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards throughout receiving, in-process, and final inspection. If you’ve worked in electronics manufacturing, wire harness, or cable assembly environments, you’ll be right at home.

What you’ll be doing

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections against specs, drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect cable assemblies and related products to IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards
• Identify and segregate nonconforming material; support corrective actions
• Review and verify test reports and inspection documentation
• Generate COCs, COOs, FAT reports, and customer documentation packages
• Capture and archive inspection photos during builds and final inspection
• Support internal audits, calibration tracking, and cycle counts
• Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams

What you need (non-negotiable)

• 2 years in manufacturing quality/inspection
• Direct experience inspecting cable assemblies
• Hands-on use of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and routers/travelers
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, continuity testers

Preferred (but not required)

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Experience with receiving final inspection environments
• Exposure to customer documentation packages

Work environment

• Manufacturing floor — not a desk job
• Standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
• Fast-paced production environment
