Job Summary

A leader in precision metal stamping, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Punch Press Setup Operator to join our dynamic press room team in Northbrook, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of high-speed stamping presses, with a focus on producing high-quality components that meet our customers' exact specifications. We are looking for a skilled individual with specific experience on Bruderer presses and mechanical feeders.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete die setups and changeovers on high-speed punch presses, particularly Bruderer models.
• Operate and monitor mechanical feeders and other press room equipment to ensure continuous and efficient production.
• Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine setup requirements and production specifications.
• Make necessary adjustments to tooling, dies, and press settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with all safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Punch Press Setup Operator in a metal stamping environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Bruderer presses and associated mechanical feeders is highly preferred.
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Expertise in using and reading precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers, is required.
• Must be able to speak and read English fluently to understand safety protocols and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
