What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at La Valencia Hotel?
Position Summary
Ideal candidates will support and assist the Director of Finance to manage the financial operations of the hotel to ensure the security of the assets of the company in a centralized accounting environment. Ideal candidates are highly motivated and effective at working in a fast-paced team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the financial success of the hotel. This includes managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Night Audit.
- Income Audit: Oversee the daily revenue reports and data entry to ensure accurate financials data.
- Credit Card Management: Review and record credit card batches and transactions for accuracy and resolve ANY credit card discrepancies between the POS, PMS and Shift4. Review and respond chargebacks.
- Financial Controls: Ensure proper cash and credit controls to maximize profits and minimize loss.
- Ledger Audits: Ensuring all hotel ledgers are accurate and audited.
- Month-End/Year-End Close. Assist the Director of Finance with all Month End reporting and tax preparation.
- Review and create SOPs.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Finance as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- Associates degree with at least 3 years of hospitality accounting experience.
- Supervisor experience required.
- M3 and Opera experience a plus.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, High level of experience with Excel needed.
- Ability to remain calm in high pressure situations.
- Ability to work based upon the needs of the hotel.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit/work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary: $80,000-$85,000; based upon experience
