Position Summary
The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. The TA2 provides instruction during the laboratory. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience. TA2 applicants must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher.
The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision.
The TA2 must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down, meetings with the instructor, grading and other operational activities related to the running of the lab & lecture.
After completing the online portion of the application you will receive email containing a copy of the Time Reporting Policy Agreement. After reading and agreeing to the terms, return the signed agreement to sci-support@lasierra.edu to complete the application process. After completion of the application process you will be contacted for an interview by the direct supervisor.
Wage Range: $16.90 - $17.30

- Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Spring 2026 quarter
- Should be cleared and able to start work on or before the desired start date April 8
- Must have taken BIOL185/L or BIOL474/L within last 4 years and passed with a grade of B or higher or been TA2 for either of these courses with full wet labs in the last 4 years
