Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the laundry facility and to assure there is an adequate supply of linen available to meet the demand of the hotel; maintain the linen inventory by keeping the discards to a minimum.
Essential Job Functions:
* Receive dirty linen from housekeeping staff
* Separate the linens and terry by type
* Separate stain linen from the regular loads to re-claim
* Wash the laundry following the proper loading procedures.
* Dry laundry and ensure proper settings to avoid over drying linen.
* Responsible to dye cleaning rags.
* Responsible for keeping laundry room clean and organized.
* Collect dirty linen and delivering to the laundry room.
* Maintain the resting periods for the linen.
* Maintain the chemical stock for housekeeping and laundry.
* Follow all safety and OSHA regulations and other applicable state and local regulations.
* Follow all Blood Borne Pathogens regulations.
* Maintain the discards to a minimum by following the company laundry procedures.
* Help in the organization and count of linen inventories.
* Keep accurate inventory of discarded and dyed linen
* Ensure an adequate supply of linen is available.
* Perform duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
* Prolonged periods of standing, carrying, and walking
* Firm and simple grasping are required for all aspects of this position.
* Lift 25 lbs - 50 lbs
* Capable of working in a fast paced environment
* Must be flexible in hours/ days
* Must respond to multiple task interruptions in order to provide service to internal and external customers.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
