Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items according to recipes, and maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items.
- Cook and assemble menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies before each shift.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner during service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Properly label, date, and store food items.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform opening, closing, and additional cleaning duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
