What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended Day Group Leader position at La Jolla Country Day School?
- Kindergarten: 3–5:30 p.m.
- Grades 1–4: 3–5:30 p.m.
- Grades 5–6: 3:30–5:30 p.m.
- Take attendance
- Actively supervise and monitor students
- Instruct students and manage their behavior
- Develop positive relationships with students
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Maintain open communication with parents and school staff
- Must be at least age 17 at the time of hire (group leaders under the age of 18 will need to provide a current work permit)
- Ability to relate well with children and adults
- Access to reliable transportation
Candidates will have:
- Genuine enthusiasm for, experience working with, and the working knowledge of the developing young child
- Good humor and the ability to command respect
- Basic computer knowledge

This is an hourly paid, part-time position. The anticipated payrate the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $18-25 per hour. An offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience, training, practical knowledge, and education.
