The La Honda Pescadero Unified School District provides PreK-12 educational and community support for the children, families, and South Coast communities of La Honda, Pescadero, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. From coastal frontage to the Santa Cruz Mountains ridge tops, LHPUSD serves the academic needs of approximately 300 students spread across 160 square miles, the largest San Mateo County school district geographically, simultaneously serving the smallest student population. Job Summary
Job Summary
The primary scope of this role includes the preparation and monitoring of the District budget, multi-year cost projections, and continuous cash flow analysis. Essential functions involve managing state and federal grant applications (including LCAP and Title programs), overseeing purchasing and vendor contracts, and administering the District’s insurance and benefits programs. Additionally, the Director acts as the primary fiscal liaison between the District and the County Office of Education, state agencies, and external auditors. Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and at least three years of experience in a school business setting (preferred). Proficiency with SACS, LCFF, and educational accounting software (Frontline) is highly desirable, along with a deep understanding of GAAP and collective bargaining fiscal impacts.
