The La Honda Pescadero Unified School District provides PreK-12 educational and community support for the children, families, and South Coast communities of La Honda, Pescadero, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. From coastal frontage to the Santa Cruz Mountains ridge tops, LHPUSD serves the academic needs of approximately 300 students spread across 160 square miles, the largest San Mateo County school district geographically, simultaneously serving the smallest student population. WE CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE ANY PERMANENT POSITIONS OPEN BUT WE HAVE AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR CLASSIFIED SUBSTITUTES. Employment / Requirements: Aides/Instructional Assistant: Ability to assist students in various activities such as completing assigned lessons or playing safely on the playground; experience working with children of all ages and backgrounds; confidence and patience. Food Services: Knowledge of Basic food preparation or food serving techniques, proper cleaning and maintenance of food area, use of equipment in food areas, health and safety requirements and precautions, sanitation and safety requirements. Custodial Services: Knowledge of safe practices related to basic housekeeping and daily sanitation of rooms and buildings; housekeeping or custodial experience desired. Clerical Services: Clerical training and experience highly desired; ability to handle multiple communication and organizational tasks with accuracy, such as use of correct grammar and filing principals; ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is highly desired, but not required; strong ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Applicants for all positions should have a positive and flexible attitude, which includes an appreciation of the educational process of children and youth.
