The Billing and Financial Coordinator is responsible for all facets of medical billing and accounts receivable including analysis of accounts, charge entry, collection of assigned accounts, reading and interpreting an explanation of benefits (EOB), investigating complaints, correction of errors, and communicating with customers both verbally and in writing. The Billing and Financial Coordinator is also responsible for compiling billing information, data input, verification of data and ensuring the production and mailing of all patient billing for services provide by the facility. The Billing and Financial Coordinator will perform duties of Financial Coordinators/Receptionist/Store Clerk as necessary to business operations.
- Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Two years experience with hospital billing and/or insurance collections is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills are required.
- A basic understanding of C.O.B.R.A. is required.
- Ability to interact in a friendly and professional manner is required.
- Good mathematical skills are a must.
- Solid computer skills, use of 10 key adding machine skills and data entry experience is required.
- Prior experience with interpreting and calculating health insurance benefits is preferred.
- Prior experience with Excel and MARS computer system is a plus.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, sit and lift up to 15 pounds.
