Job Description:

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a leadership role responsible for the club's overall production and weekend success. This candidate will help a Senior General Manager ensure that the club meets or exceeds financial goals and trains and directs all club employees. This role is a temporary training position to prepare our future General Managers. The Senior General Manager will evaluate this candidate's growth on a weekly and monthly basis with myself the District Vice President, specifically on the leadership qualities one must possess in the position, performance, as well as the ability to adapt to our culture and business plan. Based on this candidate's influence and performance, one can expect to step into a General Manager role as soon as three months but no longer than 12 months. This is an appointed role for internal and external candidates with high potential. Once in the role, we will expect this candidate's continued support with company initiatives to help generate sales leads for continued membership growth as well as "running the play" without hesitation or alteration.


Sales & Marketing

  • Lead, coach and develop the sales team
  • Plan and execute offsite marketing and sales events, partnering with other local businesses
  • Continuously monitor and drive the club's financial growth targets
  • Set productivity goals to achieve weekly, monthly, yearly objectives
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines both independently and within a team environment.
  • Achieve 50% or higher health club membership closing ratio.
  • Generate sales reports and understand critical numbers to impact your business.
  • Coach sales process daily with sales associates.


Team Management

  • Manage and develop your club's Personal Training and Membership teams across sales, marketing, and member experience.
  • Assist in recruitment and brand development
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and training
  • Evaluate employee performance and create improvement action plans
  • Ability to identify and problem solve, set expectations, goals, and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate expectations to staff and create a winning culture.
  • Possess excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and ensure all departments are providing the highest level of customer service, cleanliness with our club pride practice and financial performance.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified candidates must have proven leadership ability in an educational, fitness or professional settings with 2 plus years of management experience in customer service or sales.
  • Previous sales experience required
  • Management experience required.
  • Advertising, hospitality, or marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong professional presentation, technical ability and relationship building.
  • Excellent trainer and motivator.
  • A passion for helping people and delivering a great customer experience
  • A passion for fitness and health
  • An excitement for sales and competitive spirit
  • A player/coach leader who inspires and motivates through personal action
  • The capability to lead effectively and create a welcoming, positive, and fun work environment
  • An energetic and friendly problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
