Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our feed store, providing exceptional customer service while handling transactions and assisting with various store operations. Your ability to communicate effectively and engage with customers will contribute to a positive shopping experience.
*Position requires the ability to safely lift and move 50-pound feed bags repeatedly throughout the day to assist customers load products onto carts and into their vehicle.
Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for processing customer transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise. We load customers carts and assist with feed bags to customers vehicles. A lot of heavy lifting throughout the day We provide VIP Service.
- Assist in merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are displayed attractively and are readily available for customers. Daily cleaning of products and shelves, sweeping floors and general housekeeping to maintain a professional atmosphere.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer knowledge and encourage sales.
- Utilize techniques to promote additional products and services.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support in their roles.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries over the phone.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and retail sales reporting. Inventory counting and reporting, product receiving with accuracy and detail for reports.
Requirements
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective customer interaction.
- Basic math skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus; familiarity with retail math is beneficial.
- Bilingual required to better serve our diverse customer base.
- Ability to lift 50lb feed bags regularly and assist in loading customers vehicles. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A background in supervising or training staff is advantageous but not mandatory.
