WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE:

  • At L2 Aviation, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, precision, and success of innovative aerospace programs. You’ll work with specialized manufacturing equipment, collaborate with experienced engineering and production professionals, and help ensure aircraft components and wiring are accurately identified and prepared for use. Here’s what makes our environment unique:
    • Make a Difference: Your work directly supports aircraft modification, wire harness manufacturing, and other aerospace production programs where accuracy and quality matter.
    • Work with Specialized Technology: Operate programmable printing, cutting, engraving, and laser wire processing equipment to produce precision identification products.
    • Collaborative Culture: Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Material Control, Planning, and Program Management to keep manufacturing activities aligned and on schedule.
    • Quality and Precision: Apply your technical skills and attention to detail to ensure identification markings, placards, and processed wire meet approved requirements.
    • Professional Growth: Build your aerospace manufacturing knowledge and technical capabilities within a growing organization, with a potential career path toward Material Identification Lead.
    • Support Aviation Innovation: Contribute to the aircraft identification and wire processing work that helps bring aerospace solutions to life.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • The Material Identification Technician produces and controls identification markings and products used throughout L2 Aviation’s aircraft modification, wire harness manufacturing, PMA, and production activities. This hands-on role combines aircraft placard and identification plate manufacturing with aircraft wire marking and processing. Working under limited supervision, you’ll interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, Bills of Material (BOMs), specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate identification products and prepare aerospace-grade wire and cable for harness production. You will:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, wire lists, and customer requirements to produce aircraft placards, identification plates, labels, decals, paint masks, and other identification products.
  • Set up and operate programmable printing, cutting, engraving, and laser wire processing equipment.
  • Program and process aircraft wire and cable for identification, required lengths, marking intervals, cutting, and stripping while maintaining wire integrity.
  • Use Gerber Omega and other approved software to create and maintain production artwork, layouts, and machine files.
  • Inspect completed placards, markings, and processed wire for accuracy, legibility, dimensions, materials, workmanship, and compliance with approved technical data.
  • Maintain material identification, segregation, traceability, production records, and control of unused or nonconforming materials.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, verify calibration status, troubleshoot basic equipment or software issues, and maintain equipment in serviceable condition.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Material Control, Planning, and Program Management to resolve technical, material, and scheduling issues.
  • Support aircraft modification, wire harness, PMA, and other manufacturing programs while meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department management.

WHAT YOU BRING:

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
    • Ability to manage multiple production priorities while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

    • Prior U.S. military service or military aviation experience highly desired.
