What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Designer position at L.V. Enterprises?
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and development of seasonal Toddler Girls collections from concept through production.
- Research fashion trends, market opportunities, competitive assortments, and consumer insights to inform product direction.
- Partner closely with Sales, Merchandising, and cross-functional teams to identify customer needs and support seasonal business objectives.
- Help define seasonal assortment strategies, category priorities, and overall product direction.
- Create innovative designs and product concepts that align with market trends and retail opportunities.
- Manage development calendars and ensure all milestones and deliverables are completed on time.
- Mentor and guide Associate Designers while collaborating with Graphic Designers on seasonal initiatives.
- Review and approve design concepts, ensuring alignment with brand and customer expectations.
- Lead fit sessions and coordinate product transitions with Product Development and Technical Design teams.
- Work closely with costing partners to achieve target price points while maintaining design integrity.
- Review technical packages for accuracy and completeness throughout the development process.
- Approve fabrics, trims, lab dips, strike-offs, and production samples to ensure quality and aesthetic standards are met.
What We’re Looking Fo
- 5 years of apparel design experience, preferably within children’s apparel or a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Excellent sketching, rendering, and presentation skills.
- Experience with 3D design tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of licensed apparel programs is preferred but not required.
- Deep understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, fabric development, and product lifecycle management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative mindset with leadership experience and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
