Responsibilities
- Able to weld various ferrous and non-ferrous metals primarily steel, aluminum, and cast-iron.
- Strong understanding and ability to set up and operate welders utilizing the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes.
- Able to follow work instructions/process flows.
- Experience using various hand tools, grinders, pinch bars, torque wrenches, use of cutting torches, etc.
- Able and willing to become forklift and crane certified.
- Experience reading blueprints, shop sketches and instruction manuals.
- Able to cut steel and lay out/ fabricate parts.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter with a positive attitude.
- Fluent in English; written and oral
- Able to work for any employer in the United States
- Enjoys working in a shop environment.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment; hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.
- Able to occasionally lift 50lbs. or less along with grasping, pushing, pulling, tightening, adjusting and fine manipulation of different size objects, and standing for 8 or more hours per day.
- All other skilled and non-skilled duties assigned by manager.
- Previous welding experience.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements.
- Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads, and operating overhead cranes.
- Forklift experience.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing at times.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Daily use of PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed safety shoes, respirator, face shield.
