The Application Engineer’s role is to work with internal and external resources to understand customers challenges and propose technical solutions; then estimate, quote and establish contracts for L&S’s PCS Division projects and services.
Responsibilities
- Understanding customer technical and commercial challenges
- Interpretation of technical and commercial specifications and customer requirements
- Evaluation of project conditions through visual, verbal and written means
- Coordination of the development and documentation of project approach and conceptual system designs
- Development of project cost estimates and pricing
- Preparation of technical and commercial proposals and customer bid documents
- Engineering degree
- Experience with PLC control systems and/or hydraulic systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
- Proficient use of personal computer, practical knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally (typical is 10%)
