Job Overview:
The Dispatch/Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient scheduling, routing, and delivery of propane, bleach and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) to customers. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations while prioritizing safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch Coordination: Schedule and assign truck drivers to deliveries, optimizing routes for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Logistics Management: Monitor delivery schedules, adjust routes as needed, and coordinate with customers regarding order fulfillment.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT) handling and DOT compliance.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and company leadership, providing real-time updates and problem-solving solutions.
- Tracking & Reporting: Use logistics software or fleet management tools to track deliveries, monitor fuel levels, and maintain accurate records.
- Emergency Response: Quickly address issues such as vehicle breakdowns, weather delays, or customer concerns to minimize disruptions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, reduce fuel costs, and enhance overall service quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years in dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination (preferably in propane, bleach, LNG, or hazardous materials trucking).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain management is a plus).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dispatching software, GPS tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, HAZMAT, and industry-specific regulations.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure, think critically, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Teamwork & Customer Service: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with drivers, customers, and operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with propane, bleach or LNG transportation.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance & fuel consumption optimization.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
