Job Summary The Director of Creative Visual Merchandising is a strategic leadership role responsible for steering the visual identity and consumer experience across Boutique and Travel Retail channels. This role focuses on translating brand DNA into high-impact window displays and product launches, ensuring a "gold standard" of execution globally. As a cross-functional partner, the Director aligns creative vision with commercial priorities to drive brand desire, traffic, and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Architect and implement a global visual merchandising (VM) strategy for boutiques and travel retail that elevates brand positioning and meets business objectives.
  • Creative Excellence: Conceptualize and lead the execution of seasonal window campaigns and flagship product launches, ensuring maximum storytelling impact.
  • Global Standardization: Author and maintain comprehensive VM guidelines and scalable "launch toolkits" to empower regional teams while ensuring absolute brand consistency.
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner with Marketing, Product Development, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless integration of 360-degree campaigns into the physical retail environment.
  • Operational Management: Collaborate with Project Managers to oversee seasonal transitions, major launch windows, and the VM strategy for new store openings (NSO).
  • Regional Support: Provide technical guidance on the production of windows, signage, custom fixtures, and localized adaptations for various Zones.
  • Performance & Auditing: Conduct rigorous visual audits and leverage field feedback/sales data to continuously optimize merchandising strategies and execution quality.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in Visual Merchandising within the Beauty, Luxury, or Fashion sectors, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Fine Art, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Creative Vision: Exceptional aesthetic sensibility with a proven portfolio in high-end window design and immersive retail storytelling.
  • Strategic Communication: Ability to influence and present complex creative concepts to C-suite leadership and international stakeholders.
  • Project Mastery: Demonstrated success in managing high-volume project pipelines, multi-million dollar budgets, and complex global timelines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Rhino, or V-Ray); deep understanding of fabrication, lighting, and sustainable materials.

Salary Range (New York City) In compliance with NYC pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is:
  • $140,000 - $200,000 per year
(Note: Final compensation is determined by factors including experience, seniority, and specific brand/division requirements.)
