Material Yard Specialist/ Loader

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the yard operations within a distribution center, ensuring that all materials are handled efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, as well as the ability to operate various equipment.

Duties

• Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Operate forklifts, skip loaders to move products within the yard.
• Must be able to lift 100 lbs. While loading Customers, must have positive attitude and be able to work well with customers.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues.
• Assist in organizing the yard layout for optimal space utilization and accessibility.
• Support order picking processes by preparing items for shipment and ensuring accuracy in orders.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Have a strong will to be a self motivator.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A commitment to safety standards and practices within the workplace.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
