Position Overview: Peer Advocate
LIV Recovery is hiring a Peer Advocate to support and guide residents through their recovery journey. This role focuses on maintaining smooth operations, ensuring program quality, and fostering a positive atmosphere.
Peer advocates draw on their own experiences to connect clients with helpful resources, facilitate group sessions, assist with goal-setting, and represent client interests within treatment teams. They evaluate clients to determine their needs, strengths, and challenges related to recovery and achieving stable housing.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Client Relationships: Serve as a liaison to connect clients with essential services and resources, supporting long-term wellness.
- Promoting Wellness: Educate on tenant rights, budgeting, and independent living; assist with securing and maintaining recovery housing.
- Symptom Management & Participation: Hold regular case management sessions, adjust plans as needed, provide crisis intervention, and use lived experience to motivate clients.
- Empathy & Understanding: Show respect and empathy for the challenges of serious mental health issues.
- Mission & Values Adherence: Consistently uphold LIV Recovery’s mission, vision, and values in actions and performance.
- Collaboration and Education: Participate in team meetings and community task forces to coordinate care and share best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate documentation and ensure all activities meet regulatory standards.
- Attendance: Demonstrate consistent attendance to support job effectiveness.
- Communication Skills: Work with housing providers and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication with staff and stakeholders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.50 per hour
