House Manager
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Pay rate: $19.50/ hour

General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, and the general supervision of the Community Living Director, is responsible for the provision of support, personal assistance, training and quality care and safety and security to people with intellectual disabilities residing in a community group home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) working within their assigned residence and ensures accountability. Maintains the highest level of professionalism for being the role model for staff with a positive approach at all times. Coordinates and participates in direct support staff training by orienting new staff, ensuring that staff attends training sessions, and supporting ongoing staff development. In addition:
- Take disciplinary actions, in collaboration with staff, for all reporting staff including the issuance of verbal and written warnings. Recommendations are made to the residential coordinator for performance improvement plans, suspensions, and terminations.
- Oversees the day-to-day operation of the home in a manner that complies with regulations and Agency standards.
- Ensures the completion of fire drills, routine water temperature checks, and safety committee checklist as scheduled. Then reviews and takes necessary action before submitting forms to administration.
- Conducts monthly house meetings.
- Attends work regularly based on assigned work schedule in accordance with Agency policy.
- Attends and participates in House Manager Meetings, in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development.
- Provides weekly checks of all service and medication books; reports errors/omissions promptly to the Residential coordinator and completes audit forms as required.
- Initiates and follows up on maintenance requests utilizing established procedures for submitting and notifying emergency maintenance after hours.
- Monitors the medication supplies, documents, administration of medications, reordering process, and the implementation of new/changed orders, documentation of administration, and documentation and reporting of problems and errors promptly.
- Communicates with the Delegating Nurse to coordinate medical services and ensure completion of medical services including the transportation of the individual to appointments and emergencies.
- Ensures that incident and seizure reports, activity calendars, weight charts, fire drills, outgoing mail, supply requests, inventories, etc. are accurate and submitted within established timeframes.
- Ensures the responsibility and management by supporting individuals with banking, managing, and implementing household budgets, including but not limited to the following:
- Petty cash, food orders and the individual’s funds for household shopping duties and monitors to ensure necessary supplies are available in the home.
- Maintains the residential home and assigned vehicle(s) to ensure cleanliness, organization and safety, takes corrective action when necessary, and reports vehicle problems to be repaired.
- Establishes accountability practices for petty cash and individual funds to ensure proper use, submits receipts timely on the designated forms, and reports problems or irregularities.
- Obtains and maintains updated emergency contact information and regulatory information in the homes.
Participates in the IP/PCP planning process.
- Attends the annual/interim PCP meeting.
- Provides supervision and training to people with intellectual disabilities to promote growth toward his/her highest potential.
- Documents the progress of goals according to the PCP plans.
Qualification
- As associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in a human services field is preferred. High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- At minimum, two years’ experience working with persons who have a developmental disability in a group residence and experience in a management or supervisory position.
- Must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy.
Certifications:
- Obtain CPR & First Aid, BPS and OSHA Certifications during 90-day probationary period. Maintains updated certifications throughout employment.
- Completes DDA trainings per regulations and LIFE Incorporated policies.
