IT Systems Specialist

We’re looking for a dedicated IT professional to support and maintain our growing IT infrastructure, which serves both warehouse and small-scale retail environments. As a medium-sized business, we manage approximately 300 systems across 48 locations. This role will work closely with IT leadership to help drive team initiatives focused on delivering a stable, efficient environment for end users, while also supporting ongoing infrastructure growth and innovation.

Objectives & Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance.

• Implement and maintain strategies for backup, security, and redundancy.

• Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively.

• Engage regularly with the team, providing reports on project status, activities, and achievements.

• Aid in the development and growth of internal talent.

• Use expert-level administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure a high degree of availability.

• Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components.

• Leverage IT team for routine tasks by clearly documenting design, maintenance, and support procedures.

• Work with IT team as a point of escalation and guidance.

• Conduct high-level root-cause analysis of service interruptions and establish preventive measures.

• Communicate with various teams to identify the needs and desires for the services we provide them.

• Handle varying levels of responsibility, including serving as a backup to the manager as needed.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant IT roles.

• Experience with or knowledge of scripting languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching.

• Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure).

• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and technologies.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Operating systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019 , Linux.

• Networking systems: Meraki, Unifi, Cradlepoint.

• 3rd Party Providers: Epicor, RingCentral, Apple Business Manager, Sophos.

• Productivity Administration: O365, Exchange, Defender 365, Purview, Intune, Sharepoint.

• Scripting: Powershell, Batch.

• Experience with ticketing systems and remote management tools.

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
