Job Overview
L&F Distributors, a wholesaler in South Texas, West Texas and Southern New Mexico, offering a portfolio of premium beer, wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategy. This role requires a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and, solid leadership abilities, strong people management skills and a deep understanding of general ledger accounting practices. The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in forecasting, revenue and expense management, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business' goals, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee treasury management to ensure optimal cash flow and liquidity.
- Conduct cash flow analysis to forecast future financial performance and identify potential risks.
- Prepare executive analyses and reports for the Group CFO and Senior Leadership.
- Work with Controller to manage external audits, prepare necessary financial documents, and ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to inform decision-making, identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue optimization, and enhance financial performance.
- Ensure accurate general ledger accounting practices are maintained across all departments.
- Ensure compliance management with all financial regulations and standards.
- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage financial planning activities to support organizational growth initiatives.
- Work with staff to perform general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive decision-making.
- Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize revenue management processes.
- Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders that provide insights into financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in a senior finance and accounting role, preferably as a Director or similar position at diversified wholesalers and distribution operations.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a multi-site business setting.
- Strong knowledge of strategic planning, forecasting, investment management, and accounting.
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing financial challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools.
- Strong skills in budgeting and financial planning with a track record of successful implementation.
- Proven experience managing a team.
