CHOCOLATE ASSISTANT
L.A. Burdick Chocolates, celebrated for its exquisite artisanal chocolates, pastries, and drinking chocolates, is searching for someone to help make our famous drinking chocolate in our Walpole NH Location. No experience necessary, willing to train the right person.
This person will produce large volumes of one of our most popular items, Drinking Chocolate!
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and tend equipment that chops our chocolate to produce our specialty drinking chocolates.
- Select measure and weigh ingredients using varying devices.
- Ensure all ingredients meet quality standards and report any non-conformance.
- Stock materials and supplies in work area.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work area to ensure conformance to established standards, and report any discrepancies.
- Willingness to work as a team and to assist with other duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and work area at the end of each shift.
- Knowledgeable in SafeServe standards and/or certification
Skills, Traits and Experiences
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen helpful but not required.
- Well-organized and able to maintain a clean work area.
- Patience while working on complex production projects.
- Reliable, honest, hardworking, and committed.
- Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours during the peak seasons.
- Good hand eye coordination
- Ability to stand and walk for a full shift
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, and reach above shoulder level and below waist level
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50#
- Ability to follow personal hygiene standards
- Ability to perform repetitive task
