Position Overview
The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end users, maintaining core IT infrastructure, and ensuring the stability and security of systems across the organization. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with Microsoft applications, and hands-on knowledge of network, server, and hyper-v virtualization environments.
Primary Responsibilities
End User Support
- Provide day-to-day technical assistance to staff across multiple software platforms.
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications.
- Provide technical support for Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit users, including installation, configuration, and performance troubleshooting.
- Assist with workstation setup, maintenance, updates, and hardware replacements.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio culture
- Participate in business development efforts and proposal preparation as needed
- Manage and maintain a Windows Active Directory environment, including user accounts, group policies, and security permissions.
- Assist with data backups, recovery processes, and system documentation.
- Support and troubleshooting HP and Aruba network switches, including VLAN configuration and port management.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network performance and reliability.
- Work with and support Fortigate firewalls, including policy management, VPN configuration, and security monitoring.
- Work with Dell server hardware, ensuring availability and reliable operation.
- Support and maintain a Hyper-V virtualized server environment, including VM creation, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- - Maintain IT inventory of computers, peripherals, networking equipment, and related assets.
- - Perform equipment disposal in accordance with company policy, including data sanitization and environmentally responsible recycling procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for both software and hardware issues.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
- Understanding of network fundamentals, switches, VLANs, and firewall concepts.
- Experience with server hardware and Hyper-V virtualization.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
