Position Overview:
We are seeking a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a wide range of immigration matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in the immigration law field. No prior legal or immigration experience is required, and full training will be provided.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with preparing and filing immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documentation
- Draft basic correspondence and prepare forms
- Prepare and assemble application or petition packets for filing
- Organize, scan, and maintain case files
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and take detailed messages
- Schedule client meetings and consultations
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
