Description: Sr Graphic Designer (Social Designer position)
Alameda, CA-100% Onsite-
46217 60-65.00 an hour w2 contract 5 PTO days (neg)
We are seeking a talented and versatile Sr Graphic Designer to create engaging, on-brand visual content for our social channels.
As a senior designer, you will take ownership of day-to-day content creation while collaborating with marketing strategists, copywriters, and creative leads.
This role is ideal for someone with strong design fundamentals, experience making social-first content, and a passion for staying ahead of digital trends.
Key Responsibilities
· Design high-quality social media content including static graphics, carousels, stories, reels, thumbnails, and paid social ads.
· Translate brand guidelines into visually engaging assets tailored to each platform (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
· Contribute creative ideas to campaigns, content calendars, and organic or paid initiatives.
· Produce short-form videos and motion graphics using platform-native tools or editing software.
· Maintain consistency across all visual touchpoints while bringing fresh, creative concepts to social content.
· Stay current on design trends, platform updates, and real-time cultural moments that can inspire new content.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
· Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure visuals align with messaging and campaign goals.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3–5 years of experience in social media design, digital design, or content creation roles.
· Strong portfolio demonstrating social-first design, motion graphics, and short-form video work.
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Figma, and/or editing tools
· Solid understanding of visual storytelling, typography, layout, and mobile-first content design.
· Working knowledge of social media platforms, best practices, and content performance drivers.
· Ability to take creative direction while also initiating ideas independently.
Preferred skills
• Experience creating motion graphics or animated content.
• Familiarity with paid social creative requirements and performance optimization.
• Experience collaborating with copywriters, strategists, or community managers.
• Interest in digital trends, pop culture, and evolving platform behaviors.
