Responsibilities
Machine Shop & Thermal Spray:
- Learn to operate machines
- Safely hoist, load, and secure components for processing, and gradually gain hands-on experience with machine and thermal spray operations.
- Safely use hand tools and basic shop equipment, including grinders, polishers, dot welders, and other common tools.
- Follow safety procedures and proper handling techniques at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the machine shop and thermal spray areas.
- Dispose of waste properly and assist with routine cleaning tasks to support overall shop efficiency.
- Assist with moving, lifting, and organizing materials in the shop, including the use of forklifts and overhead cranes under supervision.
- Support yard receiving and organization of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Provide support across the shop and production areas, including shipping, receiving, errands, and miscellaneous projects as needed.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new tasks and develop technical skills under guidance.

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in machine operation, thermal spray processes, and basic machining tools. Prior experience with lathes or other machining equipment is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely (training may be provided if needed).
- Assist Quality Control in maintaining and calibrating precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, under supervision.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently when needed, and ask questions to support learning and development.
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changes in workload, responsibilities, and processes.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Must be able to provide proof of "U.S. Person" status as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR): U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including criminal background check, drug test, vision and hearing tests, and respirator clearance (as required for job safety compliance).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some technical and or laborer/ helper experience training preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, machining, or repair environment is a plus.
- Prior experience in logistics, shipping, or receiving within a manufacturing or machine shop environment is preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred.
- On-the-job training will be provided for required skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods.
- Strength to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted, repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, and climbing ladders or stairs, as needed.
- Capability to pass a respiratory medical evaluation, including hearing and vision exams, and meet all necessary physical qualifications.
- Ability to wear and work comfortably in required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-face respirator or helmet PAPR (Powered Air-Purifying Respirator), protective coveralls, gloves, and steel-toe boots, for prolonged periods.
- Adaptability to safely work in diverse environments, such as high temperatures, confined spaces, and areas with potential exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.
- Coordination and manual dexterity to safely operate machinery, tools, and equipment while maintaining focus on ergonomics and safety.
