- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the engineering team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and implement training and development programs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements in manufacturing operations.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize production processes.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity.
- Manage and oversee engineering projects, including new equipment installations, process modifications, and facility upgrades.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.
- Prepare project budgets, schedules, and resource plans; track progress and adjust as necessary.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth and efficient introduction of new products into manufacturing.
- Develop and optimize production processes for new products, ensuring scalability, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.
- Evaluate and validate new equipment, technologies, and processes to support NPI.
- Oversee the design, selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Ensure equipment reliability and performance through regular monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Manage the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field); a master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, CAM, ERP systems).
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience with automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, such as ISO, OSHA, and industry-specific standards.
