We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manager, Distribution Design Engineering to join our team at K&A Engineering in Cary, NC. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to distribution design engineering team
- Expert level knowledge and understanding of electrical power distribution design in overhead and underground utility
- Provide technical leadership in complex projects or processes that have a wide impact on the business
- Manage the design and work process between the customer, contractors, utilities, and others involved in the process Review quality and accuracy of field notes and designs and work with Engineers, Field Engineering Representatives, construction supervisors, and field employees to resolve issues identified.
- Providing expert guidance and support to develop a team that is continually growing through training, support, and the needed growth capabilities
- Promoting a culture of can do attitude and say do ratio with project deadline and quality across the team
- Own the QA/QC processes and execute procedures to ensure safety is number one priority.
- Provide engineering support to team to ensure execution of all assigned work
- Establish and manage the goals and objectives for completing projects and utility program work while achieving proper utilization of personnel
- Continuous self-learning through webinars, industry workshops, certificates, etc.
- Develop and support team in both technical and behavioral competencies
- Continuously work with the Talent Acquisition team to help a build a strong candidate pipeline
- Engage in power business development and sales activities, both individually and in combination with internal personnel to create market penetration for K&A power services
What were looking for:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Power Systems is required.
- 10 years of experience in related to distribution power delivery field, and a minimum of 3 years of ma0naging and leading a team
- Ability to collaborate across departments
- Proven track record of sales, development of successful business proposals, and completed projects required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Pay Range $120-150K/year
