Our client, a respected and growing organization in the design, manufacturing and distribution space, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position offers a dynamic mix of hands-on accounting responsibilities, from inventory and payroll to journal entries and tax filings. What You'll Be Doing:
In this highly visible role, you’ll take the lead on a variety of accounting and operational functions, including:
- Managing and maintaining the general ledger, project codes, and department accounts
- Setting up and reviewing posting groups to ensure system accuracy
- Overseeing bank reconciliations and validating daily reports
- Calculating monthly fringe benefits and handling reclass entries
- Preparing monthly payroll accruals and managing payroll tax returns
- Administering 1099 records and ensuring timely submission
- Uploading ACH and POSPAY files through the bank’s online platform
- Leading inventory cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies with warehouse supervisors
- Verifying inventory receipts and ensuring accurate ERP flow
- Reviewing sales and purchase transactions, warehouse transfers, and inventory movements
- Approving inventory adjustments and monitoring manual entries
- Entering journal entries into the accounting system with precision
- Serving as a key point of contact for payroll concerns and processing commissions
- Providing backup support across the accounting department as needed
- Tackling special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a complex environment
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other MS Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- A detail-driven mindset with the ability to reconcile data and meet tight deadlines
