Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and transaction recording using software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including payroll tax calculations and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors for prompt resolution.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed.
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and providing financial insights for decision-making.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, supporting audit readiness at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental or non-profit accounting practices.
- Experience with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Knowledge of payroll processing including tax experience and compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately using 10-key typing skills for data entry efficiency.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as general ledger accounting, account analysis, and financial report writing.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account analysis and general ledger reconciliation tasks.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and tax regulations related to payroll and vendor payments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new accounting systems or updates within existing platforms like QuickBooks or Xero.
