Powder Coat Prep & Painter

Status: Non Exempt

7 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday

Job Description: The Powder Coat Prep & Painter manually pressure washes and applies powder coating to racks of aluminum parts of varying shapes and sizes. They will utilize pressure washing, powder, and electrostatic paint equipment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Operate pressure washing machinery to clean surfaces
• Rack clean parts for power coating
• Check equipment for good working order
• Inspect surfaces for any missed spots after cleaning
• Move racks in and out of the high temperature oven
• Operate all paint equipment including paint ovens and paint pump equipment
• Ensure parts are painted properly according to customer specifications while meeting all quality standards
• Check work and identify issues to maintain quality and safety standards
• Maintain and clean workspace and equipment
• Change color and clean booth multiple times during the shift and ensure no color contaminates the other
• Work in accordance with all safety procedures and policies and wear all PPE, including a respirator, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds, lifting may be in excess of 100 repetitions per shift
• Must be able to maintain a high level of frequency in other physical activities such as reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling and crouching, and climbing ladders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• The employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise levels

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• General reading and writing skills
• Dependability with good attendance
• Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
• Positive attitude, good work ethic, and willingness to learn
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• MUST pass pre-employment drug screening & physical

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
