Position Purpose
The Custodial Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, organization, and functionality of the convenience store, fuel island, grounds, and support areas. This position ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and employees through routine cleaning, stocking, maintenance, inspections, and organization of the store and surrounding property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, appearance, organization, and functionality of both the exterior and interior of the store and fuel station. Key duties include:
- Support overall store appearance, safety, and operational readiness through routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Stock and replenish store supplies as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
- Report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards to management promptly.
- Assist with special projects, resets, inventory preparation, and store appearance initiatives.
- Support store operations as needed to ensure a positive customer experience.
- All other duties assigned
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, stocking, or retail experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to follow cleaning and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of maintenance and cleaning equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment, hand tools, ladders, and powered maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and stocking tasks throughout the workday.
