Overview
Under supervision of the Senior Director – Tax/Finance & Corporate Controller, this supporting role performs various accounting functions and will be a key contributor to the company's accounting and reporting activities. These activities include cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, treasury activities, external reporting and insurance.
KVH is currently using a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote after initial training is complete. Schedule will change to 4 days onsite and 1-day remote starting January 1, 2026

Responsibilities
- Participate in the effective analysis and oversight of revenue, cost of goods sold and inventory balances including several of the company’s most important ledger accounts.
- Prepare annual overhead rate analysis, BOM updates and standard cost rolls.
- Contribute to the month-end close process through GL analysis, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate in the financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to internal SOX narratives and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Responsible for management of corporate insurance programs.
- Support the global treasury function by preparing periodic cash forecasts, serving as the company’s CashPro administrator and updating account documentation as required.
- Participate in the preparation and submission of all SEC financial reporting filings.
- Assist in operational improvement and/or accounting projects supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Offer general support to finance management team.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA a plus
- Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting – three years with master’s degree or CPA
- Cost accounting experience highly desired
- Epicor Kinetic ERP experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to comply with US GAAP.
- Good decision making, problem solving and strategic planning skills.
- Strong computer and system skills – specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated accomplishments in continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Team player: comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with teams on different projects and needs.
