The Student Payroll Specialist supports the efficient operation of Kutztown University’s student employment and payroll functions and reports directly to the Payroll Operations Manager. This role is responsible for processing the bi-weekly student payroll with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal guidelines. The specialist manages onboarding for new student workers, including completion of required hiring documentation and coordination of FBI fingerprinting and Child Abuse clearances, and oversees the rehiring process for returning student employees.
Daily responsibilities include maintaining and updating student employment records, performing detailed data entry, and providing front desk coverage to assist students, staff, and campus partners. The position also generates and reviews bi-weekly payroll and financial aid reports to support internal auditing, budget tracking, and regulatory compliance.
This role requires strong independent thinking, effective time management, strong customer service skills and advanced problem-solving abilities. Auditing experience is preferred, as the specialist must identify discrepancies, ensure data integrity, and support continuous improvement within payroll operations.
